The Color of Anger: Red of Course!

For whatever reason, redheads are said to get angry quick. We’re called fiery redheads because of our tempers!

Well, I’m here to say….that’s pretty accurate when it come to me. Because I actually don’t get truly angry very often.

Most of the time, I’m pretty mellow. When I get upset, stressed, or frustrated I seem to go inward and become reclusive because I don’t like confrontation. I don’t like anything ugly. I also can tell when I will and won’t be heard so, what’s the point of wasting hot air. Right!? (Disclaimer: My amazing husband is helping me learn how to not go this route anymore. He’s helping learn how to communicate my thoughts better.)

When I snap, though, I snap!

Different things will set me off.

A slow burn for the way someone is with me or a loved one until I’ve just had too much. Then, it’s like an unexpected eruption of anger spewing out of me. I’m even guilty of becoming angry at idiocy in public, but try really, really hard not to blow my top because you have no idea nowadays how people will react. But, I’ll never understand why cutting someone off in traffic seems to be okay.

When I get angry, I get loud and I get sharp. Sometimes, even hot tears fall.

But, these are all rare occasions. It truly does take a lot to get me angry. I can usually handle stalling a slow simmer. The problem with that, however, is eventually it will boil over.
