The Good Samaritan: Discipleship and Humility

Next two points on the circle: Discipleship and Humility.

Any time a group of two or more come together, great things can happen!

At the risk of repeating myself, our motorcycle ministry is a mix of people from all walks of life. We come together with our wounds and scars from all the bumps along life’s way.

You would think with so many different backgrounds in our group, we would be in constant conflict, but that is far from the truth. Our differences help us learn from one another because we are able to unite through our faith.

We have a common faith in our Creator. Our belief in what we were designed for is united and strengthened through the discipleship. When we are together as a group, learning how to continue our growth, to be better humans on this earth, we respect each others viewpoint and listen. We seem to have a silent understanding that each one of us can bring something unique to the group that helps us all to grow. Our time of discipleship is something I look forward to because there is nothing but love and kindness in that space.

I believe our ability to have such an amazing discipleship is because of the humility that exists within us. Within our group, there are teachers, truck drives, mechanics, landscapers, techies, writers, and so many more amazing people. We all have a talent that can help our group in some way and none of us are arrogant about it. We understand we are given those talents to help others grow and to serve others. We also understand it’s our way of showing love to people. There is not a single person in our group that wouldn’t help someone in need, and if we can’t help them directly, we’ll find the people that can.

Our unique group of people seems almost rare these days. Not a single one of us views themselves as better than anyone else. We don’t boast. We don’t call out that we are better than anyone else. We simply serve as we were designed to. Discipleship and humility are strong within us, both as group and as individuals. In our work, we display these attributes as we come together as one to show the world it doesn’t matter who you are, what you do, where you come from, as long as you love and help one another.
