For those of you who have a pet, have you ever noticed how they cling to you? Especially when they know you’re not okay.
We have two fur babies. We have a thirteen year old Chihuahua Terrier mix (Barney) and a three year old Australian Shepherd Blue Heeler mix (Leia).
While Barney might be getting a little honrey in his old age, he loves having Leia around because she keeps him wanting to play. Leia, on the other hand, will roll him over in excitement when she gets wound up.
I love these dogs with all my heart. I love dogs period! It hurts my heart when I see a stray dog roaming around, especially if they have a collar on because I want to know what they’re running away from and why.
I keep telling my husband if we ever get land, I want a dog sanctuary. I want to be able to take in all the dogs roaming around without food and shelter. I want to take in dogs that can’t be loved by their owners anymore. I want to provide a place they can live out their life or at least until we find their forever home. Dogs shouldn’t have to be put in a pound where they risk being put down because no one loves them.
My husband has suggested we go sit with dogs that are in shelters to spend some time with them and give them some love, but I would want to bring every dog home. So, we haven’t gone yet.
One day, though, I will be able to take care of all of them in our sanctuary where they run and be the beautiful creatures they are designed to be!
