(Goal Formation)

The next question to address to break your block down is:

What is your goal?

I understand if this question seems a little out of place. Typically, it’s the first question we ask, not the third. However, I’ve learned that you cannot truly set a goal for yourself and stick to it until you are past the denial and have confidently define who you are.

Still confused?

Read through the following example:

Life is crazy and hectic. You can’t breathe from the pressure and negativity pressing in around you. You know something needs to change. You know you are the one who will have to do the changing. You realize now is your chance to chase your dream. It’s time to write your book! You are an author. All your scratched-out chapters and notes hiding at home prove it! Stand up, beat your chest, and tell the world that you are an author and you have a book to write! Congratulations, you’ve stopped denying who you are meant to be in this world. Start to redefine the real you. Then it happens. Some innocent bystander asks you a hard question. You start to stutter…The simple question…. what’s your goal with your book?

Every project needs to have a goal. The same is true when it comes to creating. You must understand why you are doing what you are doing. The answer is not, because you’re a writer or creator. No, the answer lies in the purpose for your project.

It’s not the answer that is essential as there is no correct response. What matters is that you HAVE an answer. It IS okay if you’re checking off your bucket list,  something for your family, or it matches to what you want to do as a full-time creative. The trick is that YOU know the answer.

Moving on is a bumpy, twisting, and uncertain road when you travel without the answer to this question. So,…..

What is your goal????
