The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion by Fannie Flagg-
This was a cute read!
lI loved how the author brought in historical facts about the WASP during WWII. The main character, Sookie, was hysterical to read as she discovers things about her past. Flagg does an excellent job at keeping you guessing! Just when you think you have it all figured out, Flagg throws you a curve ball, or in this case does a barrel roll on you! Enjoyed this book very much!
Handled By Officer by Kym Roberts
I enjoyed reading this book while quarantined with COVID. It was the perfect read for having to pass hours on end during the isolation period. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Roberts years ago. She was a very sweet to me as a new author starting out. She was full of advice she willingly shared with me.
While HBO is a little more steamy and daring in sexual language than I tend to write, it was not overbearing and didn’t disconnect the story line. Ms. Roberts expertly wrote about a profession that is very hard to have a work/life balance with. Though this story was more on the lighthearted side, the author did a great job of pulling me in with understanding of the expectations of being a police officer. The aggressive job also help the story speed forward through the pages.
Blindsided by Fern Michaels
I have always been a fan of Fern Michaels and she does not disappoint! The Sisterhood is at it again as they take on two corrupt judges. The story is captivating without a dull moment to be had. I especially enjoy how she is able to interject small side stories as the primary action moves forward. If you love action and justice, this is a great read for you!
Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner
This book was such a great read! I thoroughly enjoy the author’s writing style and comedic relief. The main character, Cannie, represents every thing we as women hate about ourselves. While she is a “large woman”, she is also, strong, talented, and easy to like. For me, Cannie’s character hit home in more ways than one and though she is a fictional character, Cannie has given me a renewed outlook about how I perceive myself. It is my perception of myself that matters, not others.
Murder, Handcrafted by Isabella Alan
This was a delightful read! Someone has been murdered in an Amish town and Englisher Angie is the quilt shop owner/sleuth to solve it. This book was fast paced and filled with surprising twists! Who knew Big Foot roamed Amish country!? The author keeps you guessing who done it until the very end!
Need to Know by Fern Michaels
The sisterhood is at it again! Annie, Myra, and the gang take on a greedy lawyer and deliver justice in their own unique way! I’m a fan of Fern Michaels and this book didn’t disappoint!! I give it 📙📙📙📙📙!
Still Life by Louise Penny
This was my first book by Louise Penny and I loved it! It’s easy to feel like you’re part of the Three Pines community as you learn about the characters. I found myself craving to be part of an artistic community! I was also just as fed up with Nicole as Chief Inspector Gamache. This book really pulls you in! 📙📙📙📙📙
Blame by Jeff Abbott
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Abbott at the first writing conference I ever attended. His speech was inspiring and the his thriller I left with was nail biting! I have never been disappointed by any of his books, and this one didn’t let me down! Jane has been living with amnesia every since the car accident she was involved in that also took the life of her childhood friend and neighbor, David. She lives on the streets or in a friend’s dorm room refusing to stay with her mom in the house she grew up in next door to David’s parents. Everyone blames her for David’s death, including her best friend and David’s ex, Kamala. On the second anniversary of David’s death, strange things start to happen to the people involved in the crash, from the paramedics to friends that gave statements about the whereabouts of Jane and David. As Jane plays amateur detective, her memory starts to slowly come back. When all the pieces finally start to reveal the big picture, Jane’s life is danger once again….. 📙📙📙📙📙
