I’m dedicating today’s post to my mom. She is not only a wonderful mother but a great supporter of my craft. She illustrated the book we are holding in the picture above. Today, I’m going to share with everyone her favorite poem I have written.
Key by K Greene
Excuse me, sir,
I’ve lost something important to me.
Have you by chance seen it?
It’s a most precious object:
A key special-made
To fit a lock in an unique way-
A lock fitted for a great treasure chest.
Without these treasures, I cannot fully exist.
The absence of these treasures stops my heartbeat;
They are necessary to move my feet.
They cannot remain locked away,
For who I am will fade.
Without them, life is rough, and it’s hard to breathe.
So, I ask again, have you seen my key?
It is my joy, my peace, my serenity.
It connects me to my Lord and Master.
Helps me be a little wiser.
Oh, sir, are you sure you haven’t seen my key?
How can that be?
I left it here not that long ago.
It was when my Master commanded I obey, and I said no.
It’s been miserable since.
Without my key, I cannot repent.
Oh sir, please help me find it.
I can hear my blood starting to drip,
My soul is leaving me.
My Master is grieving.
Sir, find my key!
Set me free!
Without it, I am only skin and bones;
My heart no longer has a home.
And the spirit flies away,
Because I was not able to obey.
